CareFusion reports strong quarterly performance
CareFusion has reported its financial results for the first quarter of its 2012 fiscal year, a period that was marked by year-on-year growth for the company.
The firm's revenue total advanced by four percent during the period to $844 million (620.7 million pounds), driven primarily by improved sales in its dispensing technologies and infusion systems divisions.
This was the first quarter in which the company utilised its reorganised operating model, which was introduced in July 2011 and saw CareFusion divide its practices into medical systems and procedural solutions units.
Kieran Gallahue, chairman and chief executive officer of the organisation, said the business has successfully transitioned from a "stand-up phase to our foundation building stage" in the last quarter.
He added that the company has "made progress in our efforts to simplify how we do business and invest in areas to help expand margins and accelerate our top-line growth".
This comes after the company introduced its newest product offering, the CareFusion Ventilation System, earlier this month.
