CareFusion’s MedMined Surveillance Advisor receives positive KLAS evaluation
CareFusion has announced that its MedMined Surveillance Advisor has finished first in a KLAS report for infection control and monitoring.
KLAS, an organisation that independently monitors healthcare information technology performance, has now ranked the technology as a leader in its sector for five consecutive years.
MedMined Surveillance Advisor is designed to provide automated infection surveillance to help hospitals identify and reduce healthcare associated infections, via a combination of proxy markers and algorithms to automatically detect meaningful patterns in complex data.
Its effectiveness has been validated in numerous industry publications, earning it the Healthcare Financial Management Association Peer Review designation.
Bert Williams, vice-president and general manager of MedMined Services for CareFusion, said: "Our proprietary technology and methodology not only help clinicians identify areas for improvement, but the infection data is tied to data from the hospital's financial systems to show the true costs of every infection across the system."
Last month, the company announced the acquisition of Surgical Site Solutions, a move that will allow it to expand its surgical clipper portfolio with the ClipVac pre-surgical hair removal system.
