Carestream Dental launches new CS 3600 intraoral scanner

6th May 2016

Carestream Dental has announced the launch of its new CS 3600 intraoral scanner, a new imaging device that offers usability and speed enhancements.

Providing optimised scanning for capturing full and dual arches in less time, the scanner features a workflow that is optimised for orthodontists and a high-speed, continuous scanning feature.

It means that an unsteady hand or the movements of younger patients have no effect on the final scan result, with the continuous scanning technology producing more accurate digital impressions and faster, easier dual arch acquisition.

The CS 3600 device has been tested for accuracy by ClearCorrect and is accepted for use with all ClearCorrect products, while American Orthodontics has also validated it for use with the Harmony digitally-customised self-ligating lingual bracket system.

Matt Hendrickson, director of Carestream Dental's orthodontic business, said: "Our open architecture file system and no-fees approach make it very easy for practices to send digital impressions to the partner of their choice for fabricating appliances."

The new scanner's predecessor, the CS 3500, was recognised by the American Dental Association as being among the top of its class in terms of accuracy.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801818015-ADNFCR
