Carestream Dental launches new CS 8100SC imaging system

Carestream Dental has announced the launch of its new CS 8100SC scanning cephalometric imaging system, a compact diagnostic tool for orthodontists.

Built on the award-winning technology of the CS 8100 panoramic system, the device allows users to add digital cephalometric imaging to their practice's capabilities while maintaining a compact profile.

Supporting a full range of image formats, the system features the fastest scanning times of any cephalometric unit on the market, with a speed improvement of up to 80 percent. Its short exposure times reduce patient dose and the risk of motion blur.

Moreover, it incorporates two scanning modes – a high-resolution mode for the best image quality, or a fast-scan mode for rapid exposure time that is more than twice as fast as the standard.

Edward Shellard, vice-president for global sales and marketing at Carestream Dental, said: "The CS 8100SC is an efficient tool for doctors who don't want to sacrifice valuable practice space for cephalometric imaging."

This comes after the firm introduced CS Adapt, a new, intuitive user interface for its RVG 6200 sensor, earlier this month.
