Carestream Dental launches new filter module for RVG 6200 sensor

Carestream Dental has announced the introduction of a new module for its RVG 6200 sensor to improve its usability.

The CS Adapt module is a new, intuitive user interface that offers 40 preset filters – including 12 filter presets dedicated specifically to endodontics – to allow users to adjust their view according to preference in order to improve diagnostic efficiency.

Certain filters, such as INSIGHT and Ultra-Speed, can replicate the look of traditional film to simplify the transition to digital, while some produce smooth and contrast-enhanced images and others reduce artefacts around radio-opaque materials.

CS Adapt's proprietary algorithms are optimised specifically for RVG 6200 sensors to provide state-of-the-art image processing.

David Moran, regional product manager for intraoral imaging at Carestream Dental, said: "The CS Adapt module shapes the technology around users, with filters that adapt to the needs of the practitioner, not the other way around."

Last month, the company's design credentials were underscored when it won a bronze 2015 Edison Award for its innovative CS 3500 intraoral scanner.
