Celgene appoints new UK medical director

12th November 2013

Celgene UK and Ireland has announced the appointment of Dr Adrian Kilcoyne as its new medical director, succeeding Dr David Gillen.

Dr Kilcoyne will take up his new position with immediate effect and joins the company from the corresponding role at Sanofi Pasteur MSD, while he has also previously been employed by Baxter Healthcare, Roche and Lilly, reports Pharmafile.

He hopes to help Celgene continue its successful recent work in delivering new therapies for people with cancer and other immunological and inflammatory conditions.

Samantha Pearce, general manager of Celgene UK and Ireland, said: "He brings with him a wealth of experience that will prove a significant addition to the team, enabling us to continue to build on the already great work we are doing."

Dr Gillen, his predecessor in the role, has been promoted into the newly-created position of head of global drug safety and risk management.

Celgene is currently experiencing strong growth, with its third-quarter revenue total rising by 18 percent year on year.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801659570-ADNFCR
