Cephalon general counsel announces resignation
Cephalon has announced that its general counsel John E Osborn has decided to resign from his post, with this change effective from the end of March this year.
Following this time, Mr Osborn will remain at the firm to advise the company on significant legal and policy matters.
Mr Osborn is leaving the company to pursue an appointment as a visiting fellow at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at the University of Oxford starting in Hilary term 2008, being associated with Wadham College.
Cephalon reports that it has begun a search for the successor to Mr Osborn immediately.
Frank Baldino, chairman and chief executive officer of the company, said: “On behalf of the board of directors and executive team, I want to express my appreciation for his more than ten years of outstanding contributions and assistance in building Cephalon into one of the leading biopharmaceutical companies in the world.”
He added that Mr Osborn has been a key member of the firm’s senior executive team, with the firm pleased he will continue to advise the firm and ensure a smooth transition to his successor.
In November 2007, Cephalon announced the appointment of Valli F Baldassano as executive vice-president and chief compliance officer of the company.
