Ceva boosts production with new 500 sq m facility
Ceva has completed a major renovation and extension of its sterile products plant in Libourne, France – an 18 billion euro (14 billion pounds) project that has taken two-and-a-half years to complete.
In an effort to meet the demand of future growth, the global veterinary health group has installed state-of-the-art manufacturing and filling equipment in an existing facility of 1,000 sq m, as well as inaugurated a brand new site which adds a further 500 sq m of floor space.
The project was completed without Ceva having to shut down existing production facilities. The first order fulfilled by the expanded plant is on track to ship to China this week, with the facility expected to produce 18 million 100 ml vials when it reaches full capacity.
"This new, high-performance industrial facility uses modern technologies… to comply with the highest international standards of good manufacturing practice and provide optimal working conditions for production personnel," commented Emmanuel Coudre, director of the libourne site.
