Ceva confirms return of Vetergesic availability

Ceva Animal Health has announced that its potent and long-lasting analgesic product Vetergesic is once again back in stock and available for sale.

The company has established a new, dedicated Vetergesic manufacturing site and increased its stockholding facilities for the product, thus guaranteeing a continuous long-term supply of the therapy both in its ten ml vial form for dogs, cats and horses and the one ml single-dose preparation for cats and dogs.

Moreover, the visual identity of Vetergesic has been refreshed and updated with new packaging, following the company's successful integration of Sogeval Animal Health.

Vetergesic is recommended for use alongside NSAIDs for the management of mild to moderately painful surgical and traumatic conditions. It delivers a longer duration of analgesic effect compared to other veterinary opiates.

Rob McLintock, companion animal business unit manager at Ceva Animal Health, said: "The partnership with our new manufacturing site and increased stockholding capacity in the UK will ensure an ongoing supply of Vetergesic to veterinary practices."

This comes after the firm last month announced the launch of a new antiparasitic agent called Vectra Felis, a topical ectoparasiticide for use in domestic cats.
