Change4Life allies with Disney on new family fitness initiative
The government's Change4Life fitness and wellbeing campaign will be launching a new campaign in partnership with media giant Disney.
Through this new partnership, Change4Life will be able to utilise Disney's characters and stories as a means of encouraging children to meet the minimum of 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise they need every day.
It is hoped that through this project, they will be able to get the country moving for an additional 100 million minutes over the summer, leveraging the emotional connection many youngsters have to Disney stories and characters.
Disney has agreed to provide its characters to feature alongside recognisable Change4Life animations to create exclusive content for schools, TV, print and online media and for face-to-face events.
Dr Ann Hoskins, director for children, young people and families at Public Health England, said: "We hope this alliance will be a long-term strategic collaboration, with the aim of getting families eating better and moving more."
This follows on from a Change4Life campaign launched earlier this year aimed at encouraging people to adopt healthier dietary habits.
