Cheaper TB testing gun on the market

Dairy Insight are now offering vets around the country the opportunity to purchase the V-Grip injector, a new TB testing gun from dosing gun manufacturer NJ Phillips. According to NJ Phillips, not only does their tuberculin gun injector allow for optimum dosing accuracy, it is easier to use and is cheaper than buying consumable needles, saving veterinary practices money. The V-Grip comes with a transparent chamber so the vet can see the tuberculin is being administered correctly, and is easy to clean and maintain.
Dave Gilbert, vet and director of Dairy Insight, said: “There is no official requirement to use a single make of gun for TB testing work, so with tightening margins for work in this arena it makes sense for practices to explore valid cost-saving options. Having trialled this NJ Phillips gun over the past 12 months in our own farm practice, we have been very pleased with it – particularly when it comes to changing needles. I’ve always found this process fiddly, especially when you have cold hands. We have also made substantial savings on consumables, which are more than 70p per needle cheaper for the V-Grip.”
