Clement Clarke and Nexus6 agree Smartinhaler distribution deal

Clement Clarke has agreed a deal with Nexus6 that will see it become a distributor of Smartinhaler products.

The company will be responsible for the European sale and marketing of the medical devices, which are electronic inhalers containing small microprocessors that log usage data in order to improve levels of treatment compliance.

It comes as part of a wider collaboration that has been agreed between the two firms, which will also see Clement Clarke utilise its expertise in spirometry to provide new Smartinhaler applications.

The overall aim of the partnership is to improve adherence to inhaler-based treatments, which play a key role in combating conditions such as asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder.

Mark Sanders, Clement Clarke's managing director, said: "This collaboration is central to the direction we are headed and we look forward immensely to working together with Nexus6."

The firm will offer the Smartinhaler devices alongside products from its own portfolio, such as the Flutter mucus clearance system and In-Check Nasal inspiratory flow meter.
