Coca-Cola Enterprises unveils new canning line
Coca-Cola Enterprises has unveiled a new £11 million canning line at its plant in Milton Keynes.
The facility was opened by local Conservative MP Mark Lancaster in recent days and the ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by representatives from the local chamber of commerce and the South East England Development Agency.
Commenting, Steve Thorpe, Coca-Cola Enterprises operations director at Milton Keynes, said that the opening of the new line is a “great achievement” for the organisation.
“Not only are we set to increase our productivity and efficiency as a company, we are also meeting the need to recruit a number of employees from the local area, which we find particularly rewarding in the current climate,” he added.
According to Coca-Cola Enterprises, which recently announced the launch of 80mg shots of its Relentless beverage in the UK, the new canning line will help to reduce both carbon emissions and production costs by cutting transportation.
