Colgate announces their smart toothbrush – Plaqless Pro

Colgate has recently unveiled its innovative, smart toothbrush, Colgate Plaqless pro, with an aim to revolutionaries the oral health industry with its ground-breaking technology.

The state-of-the-art toothbrush has implemented optic sensor technology which can detect biofilm build up in the mouth through a light ring around the brush, which will highlight the build-up in blue when discovered. Following this, the light will turn white once the build-up has been removed, signalling for consumers to move on.

The toothbrush, scheduled to distribute later this year, coaches the individual on how they should brush their teeth through the connection of Bluetooth and the Colgate Connect App. Once the consumer has finished brushing their teeth, they can view the app to see precisely the parts of their teeth that they have missed, brushed and cleaned thoroughly. In addition to this, the app also provides brushing tips, feedback and personalised data straight after they have brushed their teeth.

Colgate’s Chief Dental Officer, Dr Maria Ryan, stated: “In the dentist’s office, we’re beginning to see a shift toward precision oral care that tailor’s treatment to each patient’s specific needs.
