Colgate launches new website on oral health science

Colgate is providing a new online resource for dental professionals seeking guidance on issues relating to the science of oral health.

The new Oral Health Science website is designed to offer a collection of interactive study highlights, journal articles and audio summaries on new research developments, as well as email updates on the latest findings, reports Dentistry.co.uk.

Studies will present various advances and innovative approaches to oral care, as well as its relationship to general health, with "compelling and topical" content promised by Colgate.

For example, research will be presented on how new toothpaste formulations can prevent dental caries and enhance periodontal health, allowing users to compare different toothpaste types and assess various treatment modalities.

Colgate intends for the site to become a vital part of continuing professional development (CPD), with each article summary counting for half an hour of verifiable CPD.

The company has seen sales increases in the UK over the last year, with full financial results for 2011 set to be published by Colgate-Palmolive later this month.
