Colgate launches Sensitive Pro-Relief Sensitivity Relief pen
Colgate has announced the launch of a new tool designed to provide targeted pain relief for people with dentine hypersensitivity.
The Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Sensitivity Relief pen utilises pro-argin technology to provide instant pain relief at the source of the discomfort. Users can simply twist the top of the pen to release a gel into the applicator tip, before applying it directly to the affected tooth, reports Dentistry.co.uk.
Pro-argin technology also features in Colgate's Sensitive Pro-Relief toothpastes and consists of a combination of arginine and calcium carbonate. It harnesses the natural process of dentine tubule occlusion, attracting arginine and calcium carbonate to the dentine surface to plug open dentine tubules.
In doing so, it is able to build up a lasting protective barrier. Colgate is supplying the pen with a soft-bristled toothbrush optimised for sensitivity sufferers, with the pen storing within the toothbrush handle; however, it can also be used on its own.
The company said: "The new Colgate Sensitive Pro-Relief Sensitivity Relief Pen provides a flexible and easy solution for all patients who suffer from dentine hypersensitivity."
