Colgate-Palmolive award packaging contract to Sonoco
Colgate-Palmolive has awarded a contract to Sonoco for the packaging of its products.
The company will manage all the European packing requirements for oral care items from its centre in Wroclaw, Poland.
Colgate-Palmolive awarded the contract due to the factory’s location, as it is near to a manufacturing factory in Swidnica.
As a result of the deal, Sonoco will provide a number of services at the centre, including programme management, materials and warehouse and distribution.
Chris Hill, director of business development at Sonoco Europe, said: “Colgate was looking for a dependable partner with a successful history of starting up and operating dedicated pack centres.”
“Now that the contract is finalised, we look forward to working even closer with Colgate.”
Operations at the centre are expected to begin in early 2009.
Last week, Colgate Total toothpaste received the first Seal of Acceptance, following the company’s help in reducing gingivitis and the progression of periodontitis.
Presented by the International Academy of Periodontology, the award was part of an attempt to raise awareness of periodontics.
Speaking at the time, president of the organisation Dr Daniel Etienne said he was “very proud” to give the first IAP Seal of Acceptance to Colgate Total.
