Colgate-Palmolive names new CFO

Colgate-Palmolive has announced that Dennis Hickey will become its new chief financial officer (CFO) following the retirement of Stephen Patrick.

Mr Hickey originally joined the dental supplier in 1977, occupying a number of positions in its North American and European operations before being selected as vice-president and corporate controller in 1998.

He will step into the role of CFO on January 1st 2011 when Mr Patrick, who has enjoyed a 28-year career with the company, vacates the job.

Mr Patrick will continue to serve Colgate-Palmolive in the capacity of vice-chairman until March 2011, after which he will retire.

Ian Cook, Colgate's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said: "We look forward to Dennis' financial leadership as CFO, utilising his 33 years of Colgate experience and his proven capabilities as a financial leader."

In October 2010, the company published its third quarter financial report for the year, noting an increase in its gross, operating and net profits during the period.
