Coltene reports further growth in 2014

Coltene has announced its financial results for the 2014 business year, during which it achieved a net sales total of 162.3 million Swiss francs (108.94 million pounds).

This represented a year-on-year increase of 1.5 percent, while a significant improvement in its operating profit was achieved for the third consecutive year. Earnings before tax and interest were up by 15.2 percent to 22.4 million francs.

Its strong margin expansion was largely attributable to optimisation at the company's manufacturing sites and to the improvements made at its Brazilian subsidiary Vigodent – acquired in 2010 – while net profit showed disproportionate growth of 18.5 percent to 15.6 million francs.

Double-digit sales growth in local currencies of 16.6 percent and 23.7 percent, respectively, in India and China, with realignment of Coltene's distribution organisation to special markets and key account management also bearing fruit.

The firm now expects moderate growth of two to four percent for the overall market in the medium term, driven by new products.
