Cook Medical appoints new global director

20th February 2008

Cook Medical has appointed Phil Nowell as the new global director of its aortic intervention division.

Mr Nowell takes up the post after serving as the national sales director of the same business unit since 2004.

Cook Medical vice-president Pete Yonkman welcomed the promotion and stated his confidence that Mr Nowell would effectively support the company’s long-term sales and marketing initiatives.

“Phil has proven himself a tireless proponent of Cook’s Zenith technology for aortic intervention and a valued executive capable of directing the global operations of one of our largest and fastest-growing divisions to an even higher level of success in the future,” he added.

Mr Nowell confirmed that in his new position his goal would be to continue to support the efforts of everyone in the division which had led to the company’s Zenith AAA endograft becoming the number one selling device in the world.

He went on to praise the team at aortic intervention, suggesting that their talent and dedication was behind the division’s strong performance and that future efforts would be focused on refining the company’s medical technology to bring further benefits of endovascular aortic repair to patients.

Earlier this month, Cook Incorporated, a Cook Medical company, announced the appointment of Dave Volz to the position of vice-president of manufacturing operations.
