Cook Medical wins award for urology contributions
Cook Medical has been honoured for its work in the urology sector with an award from its long-time partner the American Urological Association (AUA).
The organisation presented the medical device company with its 2010 Health Science Award, recognising its “outstanding help” in promoting the educational and scientific goals of the AUA.
In addition to the development of products for the urology market, Cook has worked together with the AUA on educational programmes, as well as being a member of several AUA-led committees.
Nicky James, vice-president and global leader of Cook’s urology division, stated that the award was an honour and said the firm’s partnership with the AUA will continue “for years to come”.
He added: “Our collective goal is to provide urologists with the greatest wealth of information, resources, techniques and forums to drive learning and collaboration.”
Last week, Cook Medical published new data from a trial of its Resonance metallic ureteral stent, demonstrating the benefits it offers to those affected by upper urinary tract obstructions.
