Cook Pharmica appoints new vice-president
Cook Medical has appointed a new vice-president of scientific affairs and chief scientific officer to its biopharmaceutical manufacturing division Cook Pharmica.
Fred Larimore has been welcomed to the post after moving to Cook Pharmica in 2006 from Eli Lilly.
He began his career at Eli Lilly with the responsibility for the development and manufacturing of recombinant human insulin.
Over his 25 years at the company, Mr Larimore worked on the development of recombinant human growth hormone, recombinant human parathyroid hormone, bovine somatotropin, and several research monoclonal antibodies and antibody conjugates.
In particular, he provided technical leadership and oversight for Lilly’s protein product portfolio before joining Cook Pharmica in 2006.
Cook Pharmica president Jerry Arthur welcomed the appointment of Mr Larimore, praising his “critical leadership” within the development group.
“His extensive industry experience, scientific expertise, and strong leadership qualities have been foundational to the success of our company and will continue to be as we expand,” Mr Arthur added.
Earlier this month, Cook Medical appointed Phil Nowell as the new global director of its aortic intervention division.
