CooperVision sees growth in second quarter of 2012

12th June 2012

CooperVision has experienced a five percent annual growth in revenue during the second quarter of 2012.

The vision care specialist generated sales of $288 million (185.79 million pounds) during the three months ending on April 30th 2012, which comprised the majority of the Cooper group's revenue total for the quarter.

Improved sales were seen across the company's toric, multifocal, single-use sphere and non-single-use sphere product areas, while significant growth was noted in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the last quarter, Cooper also announced plans to acquire Origio, which would help to improve the standing of its CooperSurgical division in the in-vitro fertilisation market.

Robert Weiss, Cooper's president and chief executive officer, said: "I'm proud to report another strong quarter which included market share gains, improving margins, double-digit earnings growth and significant free cash flow generation."

Last month, CooperVision expanded its product range further with the introduction of its new Proclear 1 day multifocal lenses in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and a number of European countries.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801382365-ADNFCR
