Corin Group appoints new chief executive
Corin Group has appointed Peter Huntley chief executive after its former CEO Ian Paling stepped down in November 2007.
Mr Huntley is to take up the position at the orthopaedic device manufacturer and supplier from February 1st.
Over the last four years, Mr Huntley has worked as group director for internal markets at Smith & Nephew.
In this role, he was responsible for the company’s sales and marketing operations in 23 countries around the world and represented all of Smith & Nephew’s strategic business units.
Prior to his time at Smith & Nephew, he was business development director at Matthew Clark where he was responsible for strategy and business development.
Corin Group chairman Graeme Hart described the recruitment of Mr Huntley as a “terrific coup” for the group as he brought a mix of experience and industry knowledge in orthopaedics as well as having expertise in international distribution and marketing.
“The Group had a tremendous year in 2007 with the FDA [US Food and Drug Administration] clearance for Cormet, but as we outlined in our last interims results, now is the time to develop further the Group’s product portfolio worldwide,” he added.
Founded in 1985, Corin Group is a UK company committed to providing effective techniques that restore mobility and relieve the pain of osteoarthritis.
