Corin reports progress on medical technology research
Corin has highlighted the progress of some of the new studies into medical technology currently being conducted by its network of research associates.
The company has been given funding and support by organisations such as the Department for Business, Innovations and Skills and the National Institute for Health Research to develop technology which can be used in medical devices.
These studies include IL-Knee, which is gauging the technical and commercial viability of a new artificial knee design, as well as other research initiatives into osteointegration techniques and hip replacement technology.
In addition, Corin is also currently sponsoring several PhDs at UK universities which centre on the development materials for prosthetic designs.
The company said: “Such work into new products and technologies is a major area of investment for Corin, ensuring that the company stays at the forefront of innovation.”
Earlier this month, Corin announced the appointment of Peter Hamer as an international sales director for the company’s European market activities.
