Covidien introduces Kendall Skin Wellness System

5th September 2011

Covidien has announced the launch of a new range of barrier creams, lotions and cleansers designed to help restore skin to a healthy state.

The Kendall Skin Wellness System represents a portfolio of seven formulas for skin cleansing, moisturising, protection and treatment, utilising active pharmaceutical ingredients and the natural plant oil jojoba.

This last ingredient can be absorbed easily by the skin and helps to restore moisture in cases where natural skin oil levels have been reduced.

Kristin Dietzler, general manager for nursing care at Covidien, said the new products can help to reduce the occurrence of conditions common to healthcare facilities, including pressure ulcers, skin tears, contact dermatitis and secondary infections.

"Since many of these conditions are commonly associated with the skin damage caused by incontinence, our new skin wellness system pairs perfectly with our comprehensive line of incontinence and advanced wound care products," she added.

Last month, the company announced the commencement of enrolment for two new clinical studies of its Protege and Visi-Pro stents, which are used to treat iliac artery diseases.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800719577-ADNFCR
