Dade Behring deal set to expand cardiac market
Dade Behring’s partnership with biomedical firm Beckman Coulter could be set to expand cardiovascular medicine in the future, it has been revealed.
Following agreements to exchange resources between the companies, a spokesperson for Beckman Coulter suggests that the cardiac medicine market could see rapid growth.
President and chief executive officer Scott Garrett advises: "The agreements with Dade Behring will likely accelerate the pace of market development making the benefits more widely available."
"We prioritise disease states on the basis of our potential to improve patient health and reduce the cost of care," he adds.
The collaboration allows for the developers to use each other’s pregnancy-based cardiac markers in order to advance their research programmes.
Jim Reid-Anderson, chair, president and chief executive officer of Dade Behring, welcomes the opportunity to provide solutions to a mass market.
He claims that sharing cardiac markers between companies allows treatments "to become more widely available to the millions of patients with cardiovascular disease".
