Dade Behring releases Innovance thrombosis test
Dade Behring has announced the release of its new Innovance D-dimer test for thrombosis.
The company suggests that the examination could be useful in identifying the risk of clotting disorders during pregnancy and in diagnosing disseminated intravascular coagulation.
Meanwhile, primary functions of the assessment are to highlight the presence of any potential deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism, the manufacturer adds.
"By using a simple blood test to help diagnose a patient with a possible blood clot, physicians are able to more quickly initiate proper treatment," Jim Reid-Anderson, chair, president and chief executive officer of Dade Behring states.
"One of Dade Behring’s priorities is to develop new tests such as this one, which assist health care providers around the world."
Dade Behring was founded by Dr Emil von Behring, the recipient of the first Nobel prize for medicine and physiology in 1901 and known as the "founder of immunotherapy" according to the firm.
