Danone CEO appointed as chairman in leadership restructuring

19th October 2017

Danone has made a number of changes to its corporate governance and management organisation, with chief executive officer (CEO) Emmanuel Faber taking on a new role.

With the transitional period of enhanced chairmanship coming to an end this year, Danone has chosen to combine the roles of CEO and chairman, meaning Mr Faber will occupy both positions from December 1st.

He succeeds Franck Riboud as chairman, with Mr Riboud becoming honorary chairman of the company and continuing to serve as a director and a member of the board's strategic committee.

Meanwhile, current director Benoit Potier, chairman and CEO of Air Liquide, will succeed Mr Riboud as chairman of the strategic committee, while lead independent director Jean Laurent will not stand for re-election.

The new-look executive committee will consist of Francisco Camacho, Henri Bruxelles, Bridgette Heller, Cecile Cabanis and Bertrand Austruy.

Mr Faber said: "With the full support of the board, we will continue to create shareholder value by remaining focused on our 2020 objectives and driving strong, sustainable, profitable growth across our categories."
