Dechra names new account manager for Ireland

Dechra has announced the appointment of Issie Somerville as its new telesales account manager for Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The trained veterinary nurse and experienced animal health practitioner will act as a point of contact for veterinary professionals in both nations, leveraging her experience working in key animal health roles in Ireland, the UK and Australia.

Her role will see her working to explore opportunities to assist veterinary professionals in their day-to-day practice, while forming strong relationships with staff, many of whom she has already interacted with during her time as a nurse.

Alison Casey, Dechra's business development manager for Ireland, said: "Her wealth of experience – both in the industry and personally with small and large animals – along with her sales and customer service background, makes her ideally placed to provide assistance to the veterinary professionals we support."

This comes after the company expanded its capabilities with the acquisitions of the European animal health companies AST Farma and Le Vet earlier this year.
