Dechra presents prize to Hertfordshire vet surgeon to promote Zycortal

18th May 2016

Dechra Veterinary Products has announced the winner of a competition it has organised to promote the launch of Zycortal, its new treatment for dogs with Addison's disease.

Emily Cross, a veterinary surgeon and partner at Vets4Pets' Watford Century branch in Hertfordshire, won a John Lewis voucher for 250 pounds after learning about Zycortal and answering a number of questions about the Dechra product range.

Officially unveiled at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress in Birmingham, the new therapy is the only licensed European treatment for canine hypoadrenocorticism. Dechra used the congress to explain its benefits to attending vets.

Craig Sankey, brand manager at Dechra Veterinary Products, said: "We were able to illustrate to many veterinary professionals who visited our stand how we can help them in the treatment of this complex condition."

Addison's disease can be hard to diagnose as it presents in a similar way to many other illnesses. Zycortal simplifies treatment as each injection lasts approximately one month, providing long-term control of the disease.

The prognosis for dogs with Addison's disease treated with Zycortal has been shown to be excellent, provided that treatment is maintained for life.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801818681-ADNFCR
