Dechra-sponsored anaesthesia course concludes in Dublin

9th May 2014

Dechra has hailed the success of a recent two-week elective course at University College Dublin that offered guidance on the proper use of veterinary anaesthetics.

The MVB Final Year Anaesthesia Elective course was led by recognised European specialist in veterinary anaesthesia and senior lecturer Lynne Hughes, with students receiving hands-on experience during the two weeks.

At the conclusion of the course, a demonstration film focusing on the anaesthetised patient was created and presented by the students. Entitled 'Monitoring the respiratory system of the anaesthetised patient', it will be shared with other veterinary students at the college.

Dechra sponsored the elective course as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of veterinary professionals.

Alison Casey, business development manager for Dechra in Ireland, said: "We are delighted to have sponsored the elective course at University College Dublin, the only university in Ireland where students can graduate with a degree in veterinary medicine registered by the Veterinary Council of Ireland."

This comes after the firm provided a donation of more than 2,000 pounds last month to Hilbrae Kennels, a family-run charity near Telford.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801719196-ADNFCR
