Dechra to organise CPD sessions on canine hyperadrenocorticism

Dechra has announced plans to conduct a series of continuing professional development (CPD) sessions focusing on the topic of canine hyperadrenocorticism.

The six sessions will be held at venues across the UK, starting on February 15th 2012 in Newcastle and continuing with events in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol and north London, before finishing with a session in Edinburgh on March 21st.

Each event will focus on the diagnostic issues and management options available in the treatment of the condition, also known as Cushing's syndrome, which can be hard to identify due to its similarity to non-adrenal disorders.

The latest CPD programme comes as part of the animal health company's long-term commitment to supporting the development of UK veterinary professionals.

Dechra's veterinary technical services manager Greg Williams said: "From our work with veterinary professionals, we know that hyperadrenocorticism can be challenging to diagnose, with many dogs not presenting with the classic clinical signs."

Last month, the firm highlighted the success of its online support programme for veterinary staff, Dechra Academy, which has been used to provide almost 19,000 hours of CPD since its introduction in 2010.
