Dental companies back National Smile Month 2015
A number of leading dental product manufacturers have pledged their support for National Smile Month, which will be organised by the British Dental Health Foundation this May.
Running from May 18th to June 18th, the event is the UK's largest oral health campaign and aims to educate members of the public on the importance of regular tooth brushing, consuming less sugar and paying visits to the dentist.
In 2014, the campaign was more popular than ever before, with more than 750 media articles covering the event, while over 3,000 organisations registered their interest.
This year, National Smile Month will once again see Wrigley's Extra, Oral-B and Invisalign act as its platinum sponsors.
Dr Nigel Carter, chief executive of the British Dental Health Foundation, said: "We can look back on the last 39 years since the very first campaign and see how it has coincided with some of the major oral health improvements in the UK."
National Smile Month is one of two main annual campaigns run by the charity, the other being Mouth Cancer Action Month, which is typically held in November.
