Dental equipment market to top $7bn by 2019, says report

The global dental equipment market will be worth more than $7 billion (4.32 billion pounds) by 2019, according to a new forecast.

A report published by Transparency Market Research yesterday (October 8th) predicted that sales of dental lasers, laboratory machines, radiology equipment and other products will command annual revenues of $7.14 billion within the next five years.

This represents a substantial increase on the value of the market today, which is estimated to be $5.415 billion.

Growth will be most focused in North America, according to Transparency Market Research, due to the high rate of dental disease in the region.

Conversely, the Asia Pacific is expected to experience slow growth as a result of limited adoption of advanced technologies and low levels of patient awareness of dental health.

On a segment-by-segment basis, the systems and parts category is forecast to achieve the fastest increase, while dental lasers will lag behind due to their relatively recent arrival on the market.
