Dental professionals are being asked to assist with the distribution of Corona virus vaccines

The UK is preparing its vaccination programme to tackle the coronavirus and is calling upon UK dental professionals to help assist with the distribution. This follows the positive news from Oxford University and AstraZeneca, who revealed that their vaccine protects seventy-point-four per cent of people from becoming ill.

Although dental teams are being called upon, it is understood that the roles are separate from any current clinical positions, and will take place outside of dental settings.

Professor Sarah Gilbert, University of Oxford, stated: ‘We will continue to work to provide the detailed information to regulators. It has been a privilege to be part of this multinational effort, which will reap benefits for the whole world.”
