Dental professionals in England are essential workers

It has recently been confirmed that dentists and their teams, who are actively committed to maintaining and supporting NHS dental care, are included within the definition of an essential worker.

Sara Hurley, the Chief Dental Officer for England, received confirmation from the Department of Health and Social Care – and as a result, dental professionals in England can receive prioritised COVID-19 testing.

Hurley highlights that dental practices must remain open to treat patients over the next month.
