Dentsply Sirona announces alliance with Zephyr Sleep Technologies

Dentsply Sirona has announced a new partnership with Zephyr Sleep Technologies that will allow the two companies to jointly offer new capabilities in the field of sleep dentistry.

The alliance will see Dentsply Sirona working to integrate its existing products and technologies with Zephyr's MATRx and MATRx Plus systems, which are used in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep-disordered breathing.

MATRx Plus is an intuitive home-based system that can be used to identify cases of sleep-related breathing disorders, including obstructive sleep apnoea, allowing dentists to provide them with therapeutic oral appliances.

In future, users will be able to use Zephyr's MATRx systems in conjunction with Dentsply Sirona's sleep dentistry portfolio of 3D imaging and digital impression products, as well as its SICAT Air software and the Optisleep appliance.

Having made an investment in Zephyr, Dentsply Sirona has appointed its vice-president for imaging systems Dr Stefan Hehn to Zephyr's board of directors to spearhead the collaboration.

Dr Hehn expressed confidence that the product collaboration "will not only make dentists more productive, but also significantly enhance the patient experience".
