Dentsply Sirona launches new Hub for backing up CEREC data

Dentsply Sirona has announced the launch of Dentsply Sirona Hub, a new piece of hardware that will make it easier for dentists to back up and access CEREC system data from any location.

Using the new device, data generated by the CEREC CAD/CAM system will have two copies saved to the Hub, in addition to the CEREC acquisition unit. This allows the data to be accessed wirelessly from anywhere in the practice network.

Hub can also synchronise patient data with the Sidexis system, meaning that patients scanned with CEREC Omnicam with personal data that has already been stored for an X-ray will not need to have their information entered again on the acquisition unit.

Additionally, Hub is able to independently maintain a task list of all cases that have not yet been completed, providing status notifications to help clinicians organise their workflows and achieve greater efficiency.

Dr Frank Thiel, group vice-president for CAD/CAM at Dentsply Sirona, said: "Hub allows us to fulfill an explicit customer request. Dentists need the reliability of a smooth workflow so that they can concentrate fully on their patients."
