Digital skills gap hinders UK healthcare innovation

A report led by the National Centre of Universities and Business where the UK ranks 19th out of 29 in the provision of digital public services, have suggested the lack of digitally literate healthcare professionals is causing the UK to lag behind in the development of digital health technologies.
With the UK struggling to keep with other European countries who are becoming more digitally minded, 85% of clinicians believe there needs to be a collaboration to work together on developing higher digital skills within healthcare.
Co writer of the report Beverly Bryant commented, “The UK must seize the prize of becoming one o the top digital health and social care systems and economies on the planet.
“The health and care system as we know it today can truly transform itself, with digital as an enabler and catalyst.”
