DJO Global reports net sales growth in first quarter
DJO Global has published its financial report for the first quarter of 2011, during which it experienced a year-on-year growth in net sales.
The medical technology manufacturer achieved a sales total of $249.7 million (153.67 million pounds) for the quarter, with average daily sales advancing by around 5.6 percent compared to Q1 2010.
This result was slightly ahead of the company's expectations, with business benefiting from the recovery of the market as a whole, as well as the completion of recent corporate restructuring.
As a result of this added stability, the firm has been able to progress with a programme of targeted acquisitions, with Elastic Therapy Inc, Circle City and Dr Comfort all becoming DJO subsidiaries in the last quarter.
Les Cross, president and chief executive officer of the company, said: "The first quarter of 2011 was an extremely busy and exciting time for DJO and we are pleased to begin the year on a positive note."
Other major developments during the last three months include the rebranding of the company from its previous DJO Incorporated name, as well as the announcement of Mr Cross' retirement next month.
