Edelman appoints new UK chief operating officer

Edelman has appointed Steven Spurr as its new chief operating officer (COO) for the UK.

Mr Spurr has been named as the successor to Susan Eastoe – who was recently promoted to COO for the EMEA region – in order to maintain the smooth running of the UK business.

Currently, he is employed as group managing director of the company's UK health teams and has more than 16 years of experience in the fields of ethical healthcare, diagnostics, devices and corporate communications.

He will maintain these responsibilities alongside his new COO role, having been credited as playing a key part in the success of the company's health offering up to this point.

Ed Williams, chief executive officer for Edelman in the UK, said: "He has the insight and strategic skills we need as we continue to invest and grow our UK business."

Earlier this month, the agency was presented with a total of six prizes at the EMEA Sabre Awards, including three gold awards.
