Edelman, Hotwire and Brands2Life ranked as UK’s top tech PR firms

Edelman has been ranked as the top-grossing agency in the tech PR field in the latest Global Agency Business Report from PRWeek.

The firm, which overtook Brunswick to become the UK's largest PR agency last month, generated more than 8.8 million pounds from the sector in 2014, up by two percent on 2013. Tech PR accounted for 17 percent of its total income.

In second place was the specialist tech PR agency Hotwire, which made all of its 7.6 million pounds in revenue from the sector – up by seven percent year-on-year. The firm expanded its scope in 2014 following the absorption of sister agency CorporateEdge.

Coming third was Brands2Life with a tech fee income total of 6.6 million pounds – up by nine percent on 2013 and accounting for 67 percent of its overall revenue.

Making up the remainder of the top ten were Chime PR, Nelson Bostock, Lewis PR, Berkeley PR, the Whiteoaks Consultancy, the Red Consultancy and 3 Monkeys Communications.

The report noted: "Altogether 12 agencies in the table relied entirely on business from the technology clients, showing how lucrative and important the market is to PR agencies."
