Eisai licenses Elucidator system

3rd January 2007

Informatics solutions provider Rosetta Biosoftware has announced that Eisai has licensed its Elucidator protein expression data analysis and biomarker discovery system.

Eisai will be using the Elucidator system to support its LC-MS quantification methods to identify possible biomarkers in neurology.

The system acts as a core integrator for research in proteomics through working with select instrument application programming interfaces, standard protein search engines and annotations systems.

Included in the system is a suite of statistical analysis and visualisation tools to allow scientist to better mine data and assist in the discovery of protein biomarkers.

Yoshiva Oda, senior scientist at the Laboratory of Seeds Finding Technology, said: “The Elucidator system will be an important tool for enabling quantitative methods and characterising cancer proteomes by multidimensional LC-MS/MS.”

Rosetta Biosoftware noted that the system supports analysis workflow for comparative proteomics and end-to-end data management. The Elucidator system also enables scientists with a number of means of refining and analysing their data to enhance their confidence in their results.

Last September, Eisai announced that it had acquired four oncology products for the treatment of various types of lymphoma and sarcoma, from Ligand for a total of $205 million (109 million pounds).
