Eisai to present cancer drug data at ESMO 2014

18th September 2014

Eisai has announced that it will be presenting nine abstracts from its oncology portfolio at the 2014 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) congress next week.

The conference, which runs from September 26th to 30th 2014, will see the company share data on therapies such as its approved breast cancer drug Halaven and the investigational thyroid cancer agent lenvatinib.

Additionally, data on the development of the PARP inhibitor E7449 will feature at the congress, showing its potential in the treatment of advanced solid tumours or B-cell lymphoma.

Oncology is one of Eisai's three core focus areas, alongside neuroscience and vascular/immunological reactions. It conducts research into anticancer therapies, antibodies, and tumour regression and suppression.

Gary Hendler, president and chief executive officer for Eisai in Europe, said: "Eisai is committed to the provision of a range of options to help reduce the significant burden of cancer for patients, their families and healthcare systems."

The company applied for EU and US regulatory approval of lenvatinib as a treatment for progressive radioiodine-refractory differentiated thyroid cancer last month.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801749210-ADNFCR
