Eisai to present Halaven data at SABCS 2014

Eisai has announced that it be attending the upcoming San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS), where it will be presenting new data on its drug Halaven.

The conference will take place in Texas from December 9th to 13th and will give the company an opportunity to share its latest research findings on the eribulin-based therapy for metastatic breast cancer.

Eisai continues to study investigational applications of the drug, which is approved in Europe for the treatment of locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer patients who have progressed after at least one chemotherapeutic regimen for advanced disease.

Gary Hendler, president and chief executive officer of Eisai in Europe and president of the company's oncology business, said: "The data presented at this year's SABCS demonstrates our commitment to discovering developing and producing innovative oncology therapies that can make a difference and impact positively the lives of patients and their families."

Last month, the company announced the opening of a new packaging facility in the UK to facilitate the distribution of its advanced thyroid cancer drug lenvatinib.
