EKF Diagnostics introduces new PointMan DNA enrichment kits

EKF Diagnostics has announced the launch of new cancer gene detection technology products at the Association for Molecular Pathology annual meeting last week.

During the Arizona conference, the company launched four new PointMan DNA enrichment kits for research use, which offer highly specific and ultra-sensitive enrichment of multiple mutations in EGFR, NRAS, KRAS and JAK2 genes associated with a variety of cancers.

Planned diagnostic registration is planned in Europe in 2014, following on from the successful introduction of the first three PointMan DNA enrichment products in May 2013.

Andrew Webb, chief executive officer of EKF Molecular Diagnostics, said: "I'm very pleased to announce the launch of our latest research kits, adding to our growing portfolio of kits for use in finding companion diagnostics for cancer treatments."

The company also recently announced the appointment of Chris Booth as a product specialist, a role that will see him helping to train customers in the use of these new kits.

He joins EKF Diagnostics from Qiagen, where he was employed within the technology transfer team.
