Elanco launches three-in-one canine parasite therapy Trifrexis

29th November 2013

Elanco has announced the launch of Trifexis, a new multipurpose therapy that protects dogs against three of the most common types of parasite.

The innovative new oral tablet helps offers protection against fleas and intestinal nematodes, as well as heartworm, an emerging and increasingly serious threat to canine health.

It contains two proven active ingredients – spinosad and milbemycin oxime – in a single swallowable, beef-flavoured tablet. The convenience of tablets mean they are the preferred option of two out of three dog owners.

Independent research shows the majority of European dogs are treated for fleas, but the other two conditions are often overlooked.

Matthew Rowe, senior brand manager at Elanco Companion Animal Health, said: "Trifexis provides the fast speed of flea kill already experienced with Comfortis … but now with the added protection against the hidden danger of intestinal nematodes and heartworm disease."

The firm recently launched an e-newsletter for vets called Under the Skin, which provides information on dermatological conditions such as flea infestations.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801667067-ADNFCR
