Elsevier appoints new clinical reference group head

26th April 2012

Elsevier has announced the appointment of Jim Donohue as managing director of its global clinical reference group.

Mr Donohue has been selected for the new role within the Elsevier Health Sciences business following a career with the firm dating back to 2006, during which he has served in positions spanning a number of operating divisions.

Prior to joining the science publishing firm, he founded the leading UK internet health website NetDoctor and served with companies such as Augsburg Fortress, Harper Collins and Times Mirror International Publishers.

In his new role, Mr Donohue will be tasked with overseeing the commercial launch of ClinicalKey, Elsevier's groundbreaking new clinical insight engine.

It draws data from more than 700 textbooks and 400 top medical journals, spanning every medical and surgical specialty, and is being rolled out this month.

Michael Hansen, chief executive officer of Elsevier Health Sciences, said: "Healthcare is increasingly content and data-driven and we are continuously looking for new and better ways to put our world-leading medical reference content into the hands of clinicians around the globe."ADNFCR-8000103-ID-801350018-ADNFCR
