Elsevier develops online nursing tool
Elsevier has assisted a nursing organisation in the development of a new online resource, it has announced.
Users of Mosby’s Nursing Consult can now make use of a feature that assists them in improving the levels of patient care they offer by checking their actions against regulations and averting potentially costly mistakes.
The new service also works towards the prevention of ten ‘Never Events’ pinpointed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) last October.
According to director of nursing continuing education for Elsevier Eileen Robinson, professional nurses have a responsibility to "prevent adverse events" in the interest of both patients and their employers.
"CMS Never Events supports nurses in proactively preventing avoidable incidents and ensuring that patients receive the safe, high-quality and efficient care they expect from hospitals," she added.
Elsevier also announced last week that the August 15th issue of its Biological Psychiatry publication is set to include details of its research into the effects of hormones on stress levels.
